Day 4-Monday Jan. 12 2009

Monday in the morning we just went around Berkeley to the different stores...fun...
We made our way down to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, and after my mom went into here meeting/class, I took one of the (really cool and exciting!) trolleys/streetcars (they're refurbished from all around the world) to the tourist area, and since I was alone, I just wandered around, and they have this really cool old WWII submarine called the U.S.S. Pampanito that you can check out the inside, so I did that and it was cool...
While I was walking around, I saw this boat that was advertising tours around the bay, so as soon as my mom got out of her meeting/class, we took it, and it was awesome. The night before, while were driving back to Berkeley, we noticed though the towers of San Francisco  that the moon was really low, huge, and yellow, so we wanted to see it rise, so we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and hung out at the vista point there for a while, waiting for the moon to come.

Day 3-Sunday Jan. 11, 2009

Today we went to the Oakland Museum of California...we couldn't think of anything else to do, so we did something 'interesting'...NOT
So I said 'hey, let's go to Treasure Island (a man-made Island right next to the Oakland Bay Bridge), so we did...excellent views, but the only thing we didn't think about is that  it is a joint naval/coast guard base so we weren't allowed inside...but we went anyways...we drove through "restricted" USCG areas...but nothing stops us and our Prius!
After enjoying the excellent views from smack in the middle of the bay, we decided to go to this kosher chinese restaurant in Chinatown...but nobody there was Jewish! Apparently the owner of the restaurant is this old Chinese man who made many Jewish friends in Shanghai,  decided to make a restaurant  that his friends could eat at...
We went to the beach part of Golden Gate Park for the sunset...pictures online...

Prelude

Before I went to Israel, my mom and I used to go on alot of road trips, her the driver, and I the navigator...pretty much every vacation she (a teacher) and me (a student) shared. This one was decided to be short, to just go up to San Francisco for the weekend, and for my mom to go to this class that she wanted to go to, and to return that monday night.
